Why this exists

A kitchen sponge is a plastic bacteria farm
It stays damp, it never dries fully, and it is polyurethane - so when you finally bin it, it does not go anywhere.
Dry flat, come pre-soaped
They store dry and flat, so nothing sits damp between uses. Add water and they lather on their own - no bottle of washing-up liquid required.
They compost
Cellulose rather than plastic, so they break down in a compost bin rather than sitting in landfill for decades.
One honest limit: these are for wiping and washing, not scouring. For a burnt pan you still want something abrasive.
How it works

Run one under the tap
